Financial Aid

We understand and appreciate the financial commitment families undertake in deciding to send their children to The French American School of Tampa Bay. Although paying for education is, first and foremost, the responsibility of a family, there are options available to help assist families.

Florida has approved FASTB to accept Florida Tax Credit, Family Empowerment, McKay, Gardiner, and Hope scholarships. We have partnered with Step Up For Students and AAA Scholarships and the Florida Department of Education to make these scholarships available to families with students in grades K and up. The income levels to qualify for the Florida Scholarship programs have been raised considerably, meaning even more families now qualify for these programs. In addition, there is a process for students who hold an active French passport to apply for scholarships from the French government for all grade levels in our school. You can visit the Miami Consulate’s website for more information.

At FASTB, we are committed to supporting families and ensuring access to a high-quality bilingual education. Each year, we dedicate a portion of our budget to assist families through additional need-based financial aid.

To evaluate requests fairly and objectively, we partner with FACTS Tuition Management Company, a trusted third-party platform that helps us assess each family’s financial situation. This process allows us to make equitable decisions based on verified information.

Before requesting direct support from FASTB, we ask families to first explore all other available sources of financial assistance — including state or national scholarships (such as Step Up For Students or French Consulate bursaries), as well as any potential support from extended family.

Please note that any financial aid agreement between your family and FASTB is strictly confidential. We are committed to handling all information with the utmost discretion. In return, we ask that families not discuss the terms of their aid agreements with others, as every family’s circumstances are unique and not comparable. Respecting this confidentiality is essential; any breach may impact continued eligibility for support in the future.

Tuition Assistance

Tuition assistance options are available at The French American School of Tampa Bay. To be eligible for consideration of any financial aid opportunities, you must complete all scholarship and financial aid applications by the specific program deadlines. We will communicate decisions about financial aid by March 31 for the upcoming academic year. Late applications are considered on a case-to-case basis.

FASTB accepts Florida scholarships to help families in grades K and up with their tuition costs. Our partners, Step Up For Students, AAA Scholarships and the Florida Department of Education administer these income based (Florida Tax Credit, Family Empowerment) and special needs (McKay, Gardiner & Hope) scholarships. If your child is a French national, who is registered at the Consulate in Miami, you may qualify for tuition assistance through the Government of France. The application process for this scholarship requires early filing of your US tax returns. The typical application deadline for this type of tuition support is late-February, and the family’s US Tax form 1040 must be included with this application. This means that your taxes must be completed prior to the deadline determined by the Government of France for this form of tuition assistance. Therefore, to apply, please plan to file your taxes as soon as possible. The French Consulate in Miami will be available to help guide families through the application process for this tuition assistance. Even though the application relies upon the tax return accompanying the application form, every family with French national children could receive some form of tuition assistance, as much as 100% of tuition fees.

At FASTB, we also devote funds to assist families each year. FASTB offers additional scholarships to families who qualify within our financial aid budget. Applications for scholarships are made directly on the FACTS website. Because tuition assistance relies upon the past year’s tax form and financial information, if a family’s financial situation changes for the better, sharing this information provides the school with the opportunity to offer tuition support to additional families in need.
