Océane De Sorgher

Willy LeBihan

Océane was born in Brussels, Belgium. At the age of ten, she immigrated with her family to Quebec, Canada. She graduated from the University of Sherbrooke with a Bachelor’s Degree in Preschool and Elementary Education in 2017.

She is curious, a dreamer, creative, and dynamic. She has a passion for reading, the outdoors, photography, and exploring the world. Naturally, when Océane received her teaching diploma, she started her career in abroad. Her adventurous spirit brought her to England, Poland, Morocco, and Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, where she has been teaching the French Curriculum (AEFE) for now eight years.

Initially, she accepted a position at The International Trilingual School of Warsaw (ITSW) in Poland, an AEFE and IB/PYP School. She then taught at Keltoum Ecole Bilingue de Tanger Morocco, and finally at Ecole Mer et Monde French Immersion Halifax, Nova Scotia. Each country has helped unite Océane’s love for teaching and exploring new places and cultures.

Her professional experience in multi-age classrooms encompasses all elementary grades, with a preference for grades 4,5 and 6. She is excited to join the team at FASTB to continue her experience abroad and add yet another beautiful location to her list of discoveries.
