Super Day !
Today may be Super Sunday, but in FASTB-land, Friday was super too. Against the backdrop of the COVID era and, in particular, the uncertainty of last spring and summer, reaching our 100th day of the 2020-21 school year carries even more significance and fills us all with a great sense of accomplishment and gratitude!
Our 100th Day celebration dominates this week’s storylines but we have other items of note in this NdN, including a successful food drive, an expansion of our Adult Education offerings and Admissions news, all below…

FASTB Milestone: Centième jour d’école !
Whether it was 100 shapes, 100 cups, 100 pencils, 100 words (above) or hundreds of dance steps, students of all ages celebrated Day 100 with great enthusiasm and joy.
Magali’s CP class got things rolling with the accumulation of 100 pencils (above), 10 per student, & also 100 bonbons, which they put on display in the lobby.
PS/MS/GS broke up into different 100-themed stations, rotating through various activities and keeping Cécile and Pauline on the go…
Elementary & middle school students then took over – 6 teams, 100 cups each. The challenge: what team could use all 100 cups to build the tallest structure?
There were several lead changes throughout this intense session as you’ll see in the video below. In the end, 71 inches/180 centimeters was the winning height by a team of 3 collège students (even the bespectacled frog in the background was tense).
Let’s Dance !
What better way to relieve the tension than to get outside and do some high-stepping, arm-flapping, hair-flying dancing!
Emmy was the lead on many of the dances, from the two distinct approaches to the Macarena…
… to this group effort below, learning the steps on the fly, everyone was rockin’! News de Nous reached out to Dr. Fauci to get his take on Emmy’s Dance Party and he said, “I recommend it.”

FASTB Live Virtual Tours – Front Row Seat To See Immersion In Action
This continues to be a very busy and exciting time of year in the admissions world and interest in FASTB is on the rise! We had new students starting this past week and the door is open to all for the 2021-22 school year enrollment.
So whether you are looking to join us now or next year, if you want a school for your child that is small and adaptable, with COVID protocols in place, and offers full language immersion in an authentically French environment with excellent teachers and a supportive community, we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible to explore a fit and virtually tour our school.
Private Virtual Tours
You hear things about language immersion, but what does it actually look like? Well, the best way to see what we do first-hand is to schedule a private virtual tour, which will take you inside our dynamic classrooms to see where it all happens.
Our Director of Admissions, Audrey Talarico, is regularly conducting these tours, offering you a live look at our school in action – see and hear what French immersion is all about, observe the structure and content of lessons, view our welcoming environment and student artwork and tour the rest of the school and playground as well. You will see what makes our school unique in this region, so please contact Audrey to schedule a virtual tour.
You can also feel free to visit our Admissions page and website to further explore what we have to offer, and learn about our admissions process.
Additionally, FASTB also accepts Florida scholarships for grades K & up through Step Up for Students, which will be opening up its 2021-22 application period soon for families who are renewing scholarships, and then later for new families. You can click here to be notified about these application periods. Additionally, we also accept French Bourses for students with a French passport.
We look forward to hearing from you soon – merci !

Super Generous FASTB Families
Thank you to all who donated non-perishable food items this past week to benefit local food pantries. One of FASTB’s CP students (above) brought this initiative of his Boy Scouts den and pack to our attention and our families responded very generously to help the many people in Greater Tampa Bay who are in need due to economic hardships and disruptions caused by the pandemic.
Those who donated are eligible to receive a discount on an upcoming Papa John’s pizza order – please contact the school if you did not make note of the promo code.
