News de Nous – 10/31/18

October 31, 2018
Joyeux Halloween!
Bonjour! Lots of great costumes on parade today on the FASTB campus – teachers included! – plus November Open House dates are set, FASTB hosting a major ceremony and more in this week’s News de Nous!
Don’t You Just Love a Parade?
Several seconds later, we all ended up in the picnic area for a nice gathering of students, families and teachers… and Broom Beth proved to be a nice witch when she brought out the goodie pumpkin!
Some were scary, some adorable but all were in full Halloween mode at today’s 1st annual FASTB Halloween Parade! Pauline the Pirate and Purple Priscilla the Bunny led the young ones along the grueling 155-foot parade route, followed by Broom Beth and Skeletal Claire with the Elementary group.
And when all was done, Pauline the Pirate took her ship and went home…
November is Open House Month
We are happy to announce that we will have 2 Open House dates in November for those interested in either a current year enrollment or one in 2019-20. November 9th is during school hours and November 28th is in the evening. Our advertisement in this Friday’s Tampa Bay Times is below:

FASTB Chosen For Prestigious Medal Ceremony
We are very humbled and honored to announce that FASTB has been selected by French Consul General Clément Leclerc, on behalf of French President Emmanuel Macron, to host a ceremony in which two United States World War II veterans will be awarded the Légion d’honneur, the highest French order of merit for military and civil conduct – an honor established by Napoleon in 1802.
We will have further details about the specifics of the event soon, but please save November 29th at 2:30pm on you calendars and help us join the French government in paying tribute to these two heroes.
Attention All French Expats
Tomorrow evening (11/1), Jade Associates from Miami will be at FASTB to conduct an information session for French citizens living in the U.S. regarding international pension rules. Topics to be discussed include obtaining and calculating French and American pensions, the impact of the Franco-American Social Security Agreement, access to health insurance and more. Click on the brochure on the right for further information.
The presentation begins at 6:30 and refreshments will be served.
Suzuki Follow Up
Our Suzuki music instructor, Jennifer Diedrich, is ready to begin lessons so we encourage you to contact her directly to begin the process of choosing an instrument, billing etc. so we can get started. Again, you will pay Jennifer directly for the lessons, which will take place during school hours in our music room.
At left is a PDF that provides an overview of the Suzuki method and Jennifer’s contact information is at the bottom of the document. We’re looking forward to your children filling the air with beautiful music – Merci!
