Légion d’Honneur Ceremony at FASTB November 29
French Consul General Clément Leclerc, on behalf of French President Emmanuel Macron, has selected FASTB to host a ceremony in which two local American World War II veterans, Joseph Corbin and Francis Smith, will be awarded the French Republic’s highest order of merit for military and civil conduct, the Légion d’Honneur, for their service in France during the war.
This event also has an educational element as area college and high school students will be attending and participating. We hope you will join us in honoring these two heroes. The ceremony is November 29 at 2:30pm – please click here for the press release with more details.

There’s just something about painting, isn’t there? Our Pre-K students love it and they are learning to paint different ways: with fingers, brushes, cotton and sponges; plus learning the colors in French develops language skills naturally within an activity. Smocks are sharp looking too!
Speaking of vocabulary… Each day, the students gather in a welcome circle (above left) around Priscilla and Pauline, and they say hello, introduce themselves and tell their age, all in French. They learn weather and calendar words in French, and all can count to dix!
Better watch out, our new Elementary class giraffe doesn’t care that the class theme of the month is Autumn, he just wants a bite of that nice big leaf!
Autumn is everywhere in Claire’s Elementary class – a focus on the many Autumn colors in Art, developing French vocabulary within the context of the season and reading Autumn-themed books and poetry. Students will also now have an opportunity to borrow a book from the class library each weekend.

Last Thursday, Jade Associates from Miami conducted an information session at FASTB for French citizens living in the U.S. regarding international pension rules. Those who attended learned a lot during the session and were treated to some tasty treats afterward. Thank you to Jade Associates CEO Olivier Sureau (speaking at right) for choosing FASTB to host this event!

At left is a PDF that provides an overview of the Suzuki method and Jennifer’s contact information is at the bottom of the document. We’re looking forward to your child filling FASTB with beautiful music – Merci!
