Admissions News – Room to Grow
|

We are off to a great start in 2020-21, a small school that is adaptable in this ever-changing COVID-19 world. If you think FASTB might be a good fit for your child and you would like to learn more about our unique school, please contact our Director of Admissions, Audrey Talarico – we have slots available for this 2020-21 school year. As always, feel free to visit our Admissions page and website to explore what we have to offer – a French immersion and multicultural educational environment that is the only one of its kind in this region.
FASTB also accepts Florida scholarships through Step Up for Students, which is still accepting applications for the 2020-21 school year for grades K & up, and French Bourses for students with a French passport. We look forward to hearing from you!

Music & Me returned to FASTB this week as Mr. Alex worked with all four classroom groups, getting it started, as always, by singing “hello”…

Regardless of age, Music & Me has something for everyone, developing both an appreciation for music, and a hands-on, experiential approach where everyone participates. Merci, Mr. Alex – welcome back!

Olivier Guilhem utilized classroom technology for a highly interactive conjugation lesson this week as students took turns moving things around the projection screen with their fingertips and other tools to solve his queries.

Publishing Poetry – Emmy Decker’s middle schoolers not only continued their poetry pursuits with the style of the week, Haiku, but also created their own poetry books to house their works. A free, lifetime subscription to News de Nous if you can name last week’s poetry style…

Magali Guilhem helped her CP/Grade 1 students work their cursive writing skills this week in a couple ways – manipulating clay to form the letters (above) and putting pen to paper (below).

And it was indoor sport and obstacle time for Cécile Rocher’s preschoolers. With all of those fun items lined up, it was challenging for the children to hang in there for the instructions, so they were ready when the whistle blew and the “petit train” weaved its way down the track.

Thank you to our parents and staff for being vigilant about spotting symptoms, per the agreement above. It is great to have everyone looking out for one another during this COVID time. For those not familiar, the above agreement is signed by families and staff, pledging to monitor for the prominent COVID-19 symptoms and stay home if these symptoms appear. Additionally, we do temperature checks twice per day and practice distancing, hand washing and wearing face coverings to keep each other safe. You can click on the image to review the agreement – merci !
